The Perfect Gym Look (Keepin' It Cute)

So I went to the gym today with a good friend of mine, Ellie. We agreed that I would be at her house by 3pm, and of course--I was running late. During the time that I was getting ready, she was texting me asking me what she should wear, etc, etc! So I texted her back saying, 'whatever you have..just throw it on'. It didn't seem like a big issue to me because, ultimately, you go to the gym to workout. While in the car, Ellie was just babbling about her outfit...Do I look good? Will guys check me out? Blah, blah, blah. I simply looked at her (rolling my eyes) and looked away. However, once we entered the gym and started working out, I realized how IMPORTANT it was for a girl to look good. I mean, my god! There were handsome guys everywhere! So I thought to myself then, if you look presentable while working out...you might find yourself the love of your life here! Therefore, I have decided to talk about 'the perfect gym look' and how to stay cute around the guys while shedding the weight.

From what I observed at the gym, here are the essential pieces one should wear when going to the gym. First off, yoga pants! They are becoming the new thing. Yeah leggings were huge at a point, but slowly they've worn out...yoga pants are the must have item nowadays. They're comfortable, flexible, and oh-so sexy. With a look like hers (picture on the left), you'll have a boy in no time :)

You can find yoga pants at Victoria's Secret for about $30. When they're on sale, they might possibly be $20. They might seem a little overpriced, but they're truly a gift sent from heaven. You can also find yoga pants at Under Armor for about the same price, or a bit cheaper. Walmart, Target, and other retail stores carry them too, and they might possibly be cheaper there. Online shopping sites have good sales a lot of the time, just look around and you will find. But remember, yoga pants are a must!

Now for the top. Usually a lot of girls wear sports bra, and yeah thats great--but when you don't have the body or you're not comfortable just yet..what do you wear instead? Well, be glad you're here! The new gym look consist of tank tops. Tank tops are comfortable, stretchable, and CHEAP. Just how we like it. They also come in different colors; vibrant colors can make you stand out from the girl next to you (which is always the primary goal). I mean, if you want that sexy guy to take a second look..bright colors will do the job!

You can find tank tops anywhere, and when I say anywhere--I mean anywhere. Abercrombie, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, H&M, Victoria's Secret, etc. They usually range anywhere from $5 to $15, depending on where you go. A new place that I visited today, Blink, has them for about $10. They're cheap and the pattern is original, something we want right? Victoria's Secret has the cute, neon tank tops with sparkles and words on it. They're very cute, and eye catching--but they usually range from $15 and above. I would say they're totally worth it, but to some people they might not be. Walmart also carries regular, solid tank tops, which can also do the job IF accessorized right. Target has some cute tank tops as well, they come in different colors from solids to brights. They even have tie die tank tops (talk about standing out, eh).

Both essential pieces will make your gym look very stylish and fierce! You can never go wrong with a neon colored tank top and PINK yoga pants.

Shoes are obviously a must. Therefore, any running shoes are acceptable. Whether they are Nikes or Oasics, just make sure they fit and look clean. White is always the best choice, though they get dirty fast, they're the best choice simply because they stand out. If your outfit mainly consists of blue or red, then the white will be a great contrast with that.

Shoes you can find anywhere at Finish Line, Foot Locker, etc. I like the shoes at Finish Line because they tend to have variety and good prices, when on sale! They have a lot of promotions and coupons that they send out over emails, so next time you go there..make sure to enter your email and such. It's a matter of searching and finding those promotions.

Another tip..the brighter your shoes are, the more you stand out. If you're a girl who loves white, then contrast the white according to your outfit. But if you're a girl who loves the attention and compliments, then a bright colored shoe will do the job. I mean, look at those shoes (picture on your right). I would definitely take a second look if someone walked by me with those shoes. So be a smart shopper, but always think fashionable :)

Last essential item..HANDBAG!! Aside from being that they hold your clothes and important belongings, handbags are a great way to make that first impression. The moment you walk in, people are staring (guys and girls). Make sure your handbag resembles the outfit you have on. Your handbag needs to be eye catching, and different (like the one's in the picture). For those couple of seconds, your handbag will be the item that will be memorable. For example, a guy will be like, 'Hey, do you know the girl with that pink stripped bag..dude, she's banging'. I totally see that :) So keep it classy, keep it sassy, and oh-so..different.

You may think that an outfit like this may be pricey, but seriously--if you shop right, your outfit should not be over $100..even with a handbag included. It's important one looks good while working out because not only do you get attention, but that attention keeps you coming back. Look at it this way..if you go to the gym and your the eye candy--then you'll most likely go back because you'll be what every boy wants. However, we must always remember that the gym is meant for working out, so if you're not serious..then just sit at home and look cute there. These essentials are meant to give you tips, ultimately to stay cute while shedding those calories...that's the point of it all.

PS, always have a cute outfit inside that handbag because you'll never know who you might meet when walking out. Maybe that cute boy you've been eyeing and has been eyeing you back, might possibly come up to you and say hello. Keep it classy, but sassy. Hope these tips work for you, if you have any additional questions or anything that you'll like me to help you with...just let me know and I'll blog it! It's that easy.
