Product Review: LUS Korea Hand and Foot Mask

By Mechell (Guest Blogger)

Hi shopping kaki!

If you're like me, you'd also be one of those who cannot get enough of self-pampering and beautifying sessions. Manicures, pedicures, facials, hair treatments, massages - you name it. Only thing is, all these usually come with a price. But hey, we shouldn't be blamed, since we girls obviously want to look as good as we can! Besides, it's not like the guys don't enjoy the indirect benefits as well. ;)

Since I'm usually in an air-conditioned environment, my skin sometimes feels really dehydrated and I guess the condition was so bad that when I went for a pedicure + paraffin foot treatment, the pedicurist complained that my feet looked 10 years older than I really was *throws tantrum* Anyway so I decided, I gotta take care of my feet no matter the cost. I considered going for foot treatments monthly but before I made the costly decision - Supermodel's Secrets E- Store came to my rescue with the LUS Korea Hand and Foot Mask! :D

Packaging for each individual mask.
Comes with one treatment pack + one cover per individual packet.

How to use:
  1. Take hand/ foot pack out of packaging.
  2. Put it on like how you would wear gloves/ socks.
  3. Put on the cover provided (to prevent the essence from dripping and also for your own convenience).
  4. Secure the cover and leave it on for 20 to 40 minutes.

My take on the products:
I'm not a person who likes to wears socks/ covered toe shoes so wrapping up my feet this way was rather uncomfortable for a while since it felt somewhat like wearing wet socks but what is slight discomfort to beauty? ;) After removing the masks, I wasn't sure whether to massage the rest of the essence into my skin or to wash off. I tried massaging it in but it was rather sticky so I decided to wash my hands and apply hand/foot cream after that. I think washing + cream is the better choice. My skin did feel softer after that and was obviously more moisturized. I'm guessing the wine extract may be the secret ingredient. All in all, I was quite impressed with the masks, so will definitely be using them regularly ;)

Tip:
Put on the foot mask before the hand mask, otherwise you'll have to wait for you to be done with the hand mask before you can do the foot mask. Silly me made that mistake and prolonged the whole process by over 30 minutes, haha.

After some indulgence, splash on some color
and you're ready to head out to take on the world! ;)

The price for soft baby skin?
RM18 for 1 packet including post express
RM39 for 1 box (3 packets) including post laju to WM
RM42 for 1 box (3 packets) including post laju to EM

Only at Supermodel's Secrets, so hurry over now! ;)

Happy Shopping!

Top 5 Summer 'Must' Have Items!

We all know summer is practically here and school is finally out--well, for the majority of us. This season is the most anticipated season of the year because beaches begin to open, people start wearing less and less clothes, and (of course) the clubs start popping! Therefore, during a time like this, you definitely don't want to be seen with last year's items nor do you want to be left out. You want to be on point, stylish, and fierce (I mean, that's why you're reading this, right?).

After reviewing all of this year's fashion trends, I've narrowed down the top 5 must have items for the summer! So, what are they?

FIVE
Pastel Nail Polish
Pastel colored nail polish has become the new 'it' thing. Everyone is doing it, simply because the colors go great with any outfit. They appear plain and simple, but with the right outfit, the color can create a great contrast. I mean, imagine having yellow pastel colored nails with a black tight dress and a pair of black, sparkly heels. The contrast of the nail polish with the dress will look great, and will make anyone stand out.

These nail polishes aren't expensive, but they're not cheap either. You can easily pay $10 for nail polish at Jewel Osco. However, Walmart has them for about $2 cheaper. Just look around and compare prices, but if you find the color that will best suit you..you better buy it there and then!

FOUR
Fragrances
You can never go wrong with fragrances. I mean, that's what attracts a guy. It also sets you apart from all the other girls! It's this simple--if you smell good, people will take a second look (or whiff), but if you smell bad, people will run away from you...as fast as they can. So please, make sure you always have some kind of fragrance in your bag. The more original the scent is, the more you stand out.

Victoria's Secret is known for fragrances, and quite frankly, they're the bomb! They smell ridiculously good, and coming from me tells you it's definitely worth the price. See, I'm allergic to girl's perfume, it makes me want to use the bathroom (don't ask why because I don't even know), so me saying that means a lot! You can find any fragrances anywhere--Walmart, Charlotte Russe, Target, etc.
Remember, the better it smells, the more you stick you. Your smell will make any boy look again, or should I say smell again? ;)

THREE
Sperry's
This shoe called Sperry's, or sailor shoes, are the hottest shoe right now! Simply because they're very easy to style with, and they're so comfortable. I have a pair and I can't tell you how many times I've worn them. I mean, if they had a life expectancy, I'm sure mine would be dead already (oops). They come in very neutral colors, which makes them so stylize. You can throw any outfit together with a pair of Sperry's. However, they do come in eccentric colors too..look online or at any store (Journey's) and you will see.

Sperry's range from $60 to $100--they might sound like a lot, but they're truly worth it. And when I say truly worth it, I mean it. I would marry this shoe if I could, weird huh? But that's how much I love them! St. John's Bay has a duplicate of Sperry's and they run a little bit cheaper, maybe $30. Not bad at all. JCPenny carries them, as well as any other department store. Please go get yourself a pair, you won't regret it.

TWO
NUDE EVERYTHING!
Nude colored shoes are so in. I think people have finally learned that nude colors go with anything, classy or fierce. I love nude colors with everything, especially with a cute top and a pencil skirt (talk about sexy). They're the kind of shoe you were to a fancy dinner, and then to a club. They're just so cute! Also, wedges are in--especially nude wedges!

This shoe above is sexy. The can be styled with pretty much everything; white top, red skirt, black jeans, white shorts..list goes on and on. Nude wedges and pumps can be found anywhere, but I've seen Forever21 carry the best one's. They come in different styles. I heard they're pretty comfortable..and you know comfort is always best when going out to any event (especially when dancing is involved).

ONE
Maxi Dresses!
They are the new chic fashion trend. Everyone is using them because they're comfortable, and easy to wear during the summer. You don't have to worry about excessive sweating because the material is very thin, plus the dress doesn't cover much to start off with. Maxi dresses are easy to work with; just throw a maxi dress on, pull your hair back (or leave it down), throw some accessories on and you are good to go!  It's so easy to look stylish with a maxi dress..oh, and did I mention they're very affordable!

Every department or retail store carries them. H&M has the cutest one's. They have multi-colored maxi dresses with a touch of color blocking, or a simple color. They usually run anywhere from $15 to $50, all depending on where you're shopping. No matter what, maxi dresses are the NUMBER ONE item to have! :)

SO...these are the Top 5 Summer 'Must' Have Items. All these items are necessary for the summer, since each and every one of them screams SUMMERRRR to me :) Always remember to style any accessory or piece of clothing correctly. Mini shorts are a must this summer, since it'll be hotter than hell itself. Enjoy your summer, and live it to the fullest..oh and remember to always have TANNING LOTION!

Event Review: MagicColour Lens Blogger's Review Session @ Mid Valley

By Michelle C. (Guest Blogger)

Heya beautiful people!=D

By now, you've prolly heard of Geo Lens a.k.a Circle lens that has been a huge hit in Japan and Korea for its ability to make one's eyes anime-like due to its larger diameter and vibrant colors. I've always wanted eyes that pop (uhh, not pop out of the socket, but bigger, brighter eyes with a gaze that mesmerizes =D) but never dared to try these lens back then as I used to be a tad doubtful on its safety and its origins. However, after having the opportunity to try 'em out, I'm a fan now! Thanks to MagicColour contact lens - a brand new Korean circle lens brand that has just hit our shores last month and YSK is honoured to be invited to be part of their launch a.k.a Blogger's review event which was held in Delectable, Mid Valley.

A fun-filled event with food, free makeover sessions and goodiebag for all the bloggers. I'll let the photos speak for itself ;) :

MagicColour Lens custom made cupcakes and chocolate lollipops. Cute stuff!

We're greeted with goodiebags containing a bag organizer, 3 pairs of lens ,
chic&sleek canvas bag & 1 set of the lens casing

Bloggers mingling with delectable finger food before the makeover session.

Make up session ... and now.. our crowning glory gets glorified =D

Next up is the photoshoot, all of us got the opportunity for a shot with MagicColour Lens after the makeover and hair do, and here are snapshots of the photos of the bloggers and yours truly donning MagicColour lens.

Isabel in BlushyGreen | Michelle in BlushyBrown

Syazwani in BlushyBlue | Stella in MoonlightPink

Traclyn in Stilette Pink | Tammy in Blushy Gray

Group shot after the event =)

We're all ecstatic as we all can now look like Tsubasa Masuwaka (anytime!),
the gyaru top model in Japan. Yikes, sorry, I digressed.

My personal review on MagicColour Lens:

Lens quality/design/size:
Top quality lenses that is made in Korea using the latest diamond cutting technology, with 16.00mm diameter, normal lenses are 14.00mm in diameter. While 2.00mm may seem miniscule with the naked eye, it makes a HUGE difference when worn on the eyes. Below is a personal pic. Right eye (no MagicColour Lens), Left eye (Wearing MagicColour lens). Huge diffference eh?

BEFORE (Left) AFTER (Right - with MagicColour lens)

Variety/colours: They've got 11 collections altogether, my favourite is Blushy collection as it has 3 color tones and blends beautifully into dreamy like anime eyes. This one will suit casual outings and everyday wear, and they have got collections with pretty patterns too like the Ballerina range, which looks fun to try out on special occasions.

Comfort: Wearing this for up to 4 hours is fine, after the 4th hour it gets a bit dry, hence i recommend using eyedrops. I have got very sensitive eyes, so maybe for me my eyes feels dry faster than alot of people.it has 55% water content so it is still fairly moisturised. Use a moirturising solution prior to wearing to help extend the moisture odf the lens while wearing it.

Packaging: Blister packaging encased in another lovely box by MagicColour, very hygienic.

Other comments: This lens looks great not only in real life but stands out all the more in photos. It makes even the smallest of eyes stand out.

The Perfect Gym Look (Keepin' It Cute)

So I went to the gym today with a good friend of mine, Ellie. We agreed that I would be at her house by 3pm, and of course--I was running late. During the time that I was getting ready, she was texting me asking me what she should wear, etc, etc! So I texted her back saying, 'whatever you have..just throw it on'. It didn't seem like a big issue to me because, ultimately, you go to the gym to workout. While in the car, Ellie was just babbling about her outfit...Do I look good? Will guys check me out? Blah, blah, blah. I simply looked at her (rolling my eyes) and looked away. However, once we entered the gym and started working out, I realized how IMPORTANT it was for a girl to look good. I mean, my god! There were handsome guys everywhere! So I thought to myself then, if you look presentable while working out...you might find yourself the love of your life here! Therefore, I have decided to talk about 'the perfect gym look' and how to stay cute around the guys while shedding the weight.

From what I observed at the gym, here are the essential pieces one should wear when going to the gym. First off, yoga pants! They are becoming the new thing. Yeah leggings were huge at a point, but slowly they've worn out...yoga pants are the must have item nowadays. They're comfortable, flexible, and oh-so sexy. With a look like hers (picture on the left), you'll have a boy in no time :)

You can find yoga pants at Victoria's Secret for about $30. When they're on sale, they might possibly be $20. They might seem a little overpriced, but they're truly a gift sent from heaven. You can also find yoga pants at Under Armor for about the same price, or a bit cheaper. Walmart, Target, and other retail stores carry them too, and they might possibly be cheaper there. Online shopping sites have good sales a lot of the time, just look around and you will find. But remember, yoga pants are a must!

Now for the top. Usually a lot of girls wear sports bra, and yeah thats great--but when you don't have the body or you're not comfortable just yet..what do you wear instead? Well, be glad you're here! The new gym look consist of tank tops. Tank tops are comfortable, stretchable, and CHEAP. Just how we like it. They also come in different colors; vibrant colors can make you stand out from the girl next to you (which is always the primary goal). I mean, if you want that sexy guy to take a second look..bright colors will do the job!

You can find tank tops anywhere, and when I say anywhere--I mean anywhere. Abercrombie, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, H&M, Victoria's Secret, etc. They usually range anywhere from $5 to $15, depending on where you go. A new place that I visited today, Blink, has them for about $10. They're cheap and the pattern is original, something we want right? Victoria's Secret has the cute, neon tank tops with sparkles and words on it. They're very cute, and eye catching--but they usually range from $15 and above. I would say they're totally worth it, but to some people they might not be. Walmart also carries regular, solid tank tops, which can also do the job IF accessorized right. Target has some cute tank tops as well, they come in different colors from solids to brights. They even have tie die tank tops (talk about standing out, eh).

Both essential pieces will make your gym look very stylish and fierce! You can never go wrong with a neon colored tank top and PINK yoga pants.

Shoes are obviously a must. Therefore, any running shoes are acceptable. Whether they are Nikes or Oasics, just make sure they fit and look clean. White is always the best choice, though they get dirty fast, they're the best choice simply because they stand out. If your outfit mainly consists of blue or red, then the white will be a great contrast with that.

Shoes you can find anywhere at Finish Line, Foot Locker, etc. I like the shoes at Finish Line because they tend to have variety and good prices, when on sale! They have a lot of promotions and coupons that they send out over emails, so next time you go there..make sure to enter your email and such. It's a matter of searching and finding those promotions.

Another tip..the brighter your shoes are, the more you stand out. If you're a girl who loves white, then contrast the white according to your outfit. But if you're a girl who loves the attention and compliments, then a bright colored shoe will do the job. I mean, look at those shoes (picture on your right). I would definitely take a second look if someone walked by me with those shoes. So be a smart shopper, but always think fashionable :)

Last essential item..HANDBAG!! Aside from being that they hold your clothes and important belongings, handbags are a great way to make that first impression. The moment you walk in, people are staring (guys and girls). Make sure your handbag resembles the outfit you have on. Your handbag needs to be eye catching, and different (like the one's in the picture). For those couple of seconds, your handbag will be the item that will be memorable. For example, a guy will be like, 'Hey, do you know the girl with that pink stripped bag..dude, she's banging'. I totally see that :) So keep it classy, keep it sassy, and oh-so..different.

You may think that an outfit like this may be pricey, but seriously--if you shop right, your outfit should not be over $100..even with a handbag included. It's important one looks good while working out because not only do you get attention, but that attention keeps you coming back. Look at it this way..if you go to the gym and your the eye candy--then you'll most likely go back because you'll be what every boy wants. However, we must always remember that the gym is meant for working out, so if you're not serious..then just sit at home and look cute there. These essentials are meant to give you tips, ultimately to stay cute while shedding those calories...that's the point of it all.

PS, always have a cute outfit inside that handbag because you'll never know who you might meet when walking out. Maybe that cute boy you've been eyeing and has been eyeing you back, might possibly come up to you and say hello. Keep it classy, but sassy. Hope these tips work for you, if you have any additional questions or anything that you'll like me to help you with...just let me know and I'll blog it! It's that easy.

Jewelry Trends for Summer!

As we all know, accessories have been around forever: bracelets, rings, necklaces, so forth. For a period of time, accessories were minimal. An outfit consisted of earrings, a necklace, and a simple bracelet. They were made to enhance the look, but ultimately they weren't meant to take away from the outfit. However, as time and fashion trends have evolved, accessories have become the essential piece of anyone's look. By combining a casual look with numerous amounts of accessories, you can make your casual look fashion couture (just don't take it overboard--and you know what I mean by that!), here are some example as to how you can style your look with the help of accessories! Let the tips begin..

Silver, Golds, & Blacks

Accessories with these color schemes are great for a night out, or possibly, a date (uh, fierce) because of the elegance behind the mixture of color. These accessories aren't necessarily full of color, but they mesh well with anything. Whether a black dress with hot red heels or a simple white tank top and black skinny jeans. You work your look, but remember--less clothes, more accessories!
Splash of Colors

This is a perfect epitome of using the right amount of jewelry, and still making your outfit look great. Using vibrant, vivid colors work best with any colored top! The more the merrier, but don't make it look crazy (yeeks). Also, style your accessories not by color, but by shade..it'll look best that way. For example, don't go with just black bracelets--try and use black with hot pink, lime green, and neon blue. That would look cute and chic.

 Flower Accessories

A lot of flowered accessories are being used as bold fashion statements. Not only do you see them on the cute girl who still attends high school, but now it's becoming a big 'must' within business women and 20 year olds. Accessories like these give more to the eye and bring your personality out. They make statements as to who you are as a person, because essentially, flowers are lively and mellow--so it shows you being a lively and happy person.

Maybe wearing a flowered necklace will let a guy know that your not hard to come up to, and maybe then, he'll loose the nerves and come say hi! Eh, what a dream that would be! Oh, and also, flowered accessories are not childish if used right. I mean look at all the cute accessories, and imagine how great they can look on an everyday look.

  NOTHING, BUT BOLD!

As I said, the use of excessive accessories is becoming a new trend. More and more people are doing it, and more and more people are noticing that accessories make an outfit look great. May I add, chic? However, sometimes excessive amounts of accessories can be a little too much for some people--that is why picking the right accessories is important. Ultimately we want our outfit to make a bold statement, so choosing eccentric, colorful accessories can do just that. Look at Beyonce, she styled an eccentric colored necklace and earrings, both with a very unusual pattern, with her outfit. Her look now looks chic and high fashion, while also making one take a second look (what we all want, right?).  So if excessive jewelry is too much for you, then be wise and think BOLD :)

When she first came out, Jessica Simpson was the ‘it’ girl, she simply had it all. She had number one hits, albums, and even her own reality show. However, her success soon came to a declination. Her ratings suffered a lot, and her image was nearly on the verge of shattering. When she announced her clothing collection, some were skeptical about the success and fortune her line would bring in. Still doubting her, Jessica remained strong and established her collection. So far, her collection took in over $750 million in retail sales in 2010! Since then, she has been named “Fashion Billion Dollar Baby” by the fashion magazine, and soon she will be launching her very first sport-wears line! Go you, Jessica..you have astonished us.

Dany shoes have a 5.5 inch heel to them, but they’re about the hottest shoes right now. They cost a little less than $100, but online they can range from $300 to $400! They turn any casual look into a chic look.
Dany shoes can easily be worn with any colored caprices, shorts, or jeans. If styled with a regular blouse or even v-neck under any scarf—they will turn your look into high fashion. Color blocking looks great with these heels, wether you have the crocodile print or suede (Love the suede, very sexy for any woman!).

Therefore, if you ever have $100 to spend, go out and make a GREAT investment by purchasing yourself Dany wooden shoes. You honestly don’t want to miss out on the buzz the Dany shoe has created.
