Seventeen Origins

There are so many people in the world with so many different tastes, that we can say for sure that not everybody wants the same thing. But that just got me thinking, there's gotta be one thing that everyone wants to be...

And I think that is to be original. This is where online stores like Seventeen Origins come in! :D How often can we find tailor-made designs for under RM100 these days?

Seventeen Origins

What I love about their style is that it's very original - each piece is carefully tailored and different from mass-market products! :) A kind of high street fashion meets vintage detailing is what Seventeen Origins is about!

The Story
"I was looking for some particular garments but just couldn't find anything I like. I was really in dismay especially when this maxi skirt trend became a hit last year but the maxi I found were either too short or too long! Or when the dark turquoise was a big trend after Avatar was released, but garments in this gorgeous colour were nowhere to be found.

So I was thinking why don't I design and make my own garments?! So I have a friend studying textile design so I approached her, voiced out my ideas, after long preparation (she was and is still a student now), and finally our first piece of original design item was here last year somewhere in late November!

Of course, I seized the chance to own clothes that I've been dreaming of having them! To date we have 11 co-design items and there are more to come! We want to present to customers a really unique piece that's why we don't rush in releasing new design. :)"
Here is a peek at my favourite pieces from the store - some are original designs by Seventeen Origins and others are handpicked pieces from suppliers, all available at Seventeen Origins!

High-waisted A-line miniskirts!

Blouses and rompers

Blazers and playsuits

Blouses and the most gorgeous maxi skirts everrrrrrr

Seriously, these maxi skirts are to die for!

I'm a bit tired of bumping into people wearing the same clothes as me... I'm sure some of you feel the same way too :D So Seventeen Origins are one of the few stores with limited edition items, we shall support them! :)

Grab an original piece from Seventeen Origins today! :)

  • Crowd-ready area: Located directly adjacent to an apartment complex of 440 apartments, with the majority of the tenants being students, they'll be sure to go to Millennium Square to check out the bazaar for sure! :D

In Your Face!

By Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

Are you getting deprived of sleep due to endless assignment due dates? Urgent deadlines at work? Or perhaps excessive exposure to the outdoors?

These are just some symptoms that we girls (and guys) have to encounter. The stress nevertheless does not end there. It shows in the face! Your absolute prized possession! People say that eyes are windows to your soul, but you must admit that before checking out a person's eyes the first thing you notice is usually their face. Plus, what with pollution, gravity and the inevitable aging, your skin's natural ability to heal itself lessens. And that's where Darcy and Jones comes in! They provide a huge amount of beauty products for you to protect your youthful beauty.

Some of my loots

Those plagued by nose blackheads and whiteheads can use the Shiseido Nose Mask. I've seen a few people with severe blackheads and whiteheads on their nose! It's so bad that upon looking at their faces you can literally see the heads standing up on their nose. It's really quite disturbing. (check own nose)

For face masks, they have a plethora of them! Remember, people usually stare at your face before anything else, so keep them looking young, fresh and with a bounce to your skin with these selection of masks!

Your body is made out of 75% water. Keep it hydated and nourished with Catena H2O Eight Cups of Water Series.

For those who love the scent of Lavender and Rose, they've got 2 masks just for that! Dainty Design Lavender Mask and Dainty Design Rose Mask.

If you're a fan of the famed BB Cream, they've got it in stock as well! Lohashill BB Cream comes in sample sizes for you first timer. Selling at RM7 for 5ml or RM55 for 50ml, the sample tube is perfect for newbies who would like to have a peek into the wonderful wonders of BB cream. Also great as a travelling kit. As I am a use of BB Cream myself (Missha), I personally feel it is a great replacement to liquid foundation for those who opt for a lighter make up application. It may not provide as much coverage compared to foundation, but there is always this essential item called concealer that we can use together to create the natural and flawless look ;)

Before | After
Using the Lohashill Rose Sun Blemish Balm with SPF20

Before | After
Using Lohashill Essential Blemish Balm

Fully BB-creamed. A more toned complexion and slight coverage of my overly enlarged pores ;(

Last but not least, our eyes. The very window to our soul.

Scary eye no? Baffled with puffy eyes?

Deck Out Women Eye Mask. Sad to say, it's sold out on their site but do drop them an email to see if they are able to restock it. :) I have personally tried this once only and it's rather difficult for me to tell you the result immediately, but I would say that sort of treatment is better than no treatment ;)

This is how it looks like, cooling gel pieces.
And you can refer to my uneven skin tone
as compared to the one which has been BB-fied.

Slow down aging now!
Check out Darcy and Jones for more beauty products created to make our skin glow!

super sweet bikinis

So it's official, the clocks went forward two nights ago and the days are getting brighter and longer; summers coming guys! It's time to get a super sweet bikini ready for the beach! I have picked a few of my favorites.

First of all my favorite one, the pink floral print bikini. Ah, everything about it is sweet and ditsy and screams summer.
Second is a traditional gingham print - to me, this is a "pin-up girl" bikini. It's so retro and the pale blue is stunning. I also like the structured top and classic pant.
The next bikini is quite unusual. It's very boho chic. I like that the top and pant don't match, makes it unique.
I love the bandana print on the last bikini. Again it's unusual and unique but gorgeous and summery at the same time.

Blue Gingham Seersucker Bikini - Topshop - £30.00
Ditsy Floral Bikini - Miss Selfridge - £25.00
Fantasy Mosaic Print Bikini - Warehouse - £14.00
Bandana Print Bikini - Miss Selfridge - £25.00

trend spotter: floral denim

A trend that I have been seeing a lot of lately is denim with a sweet, girly floral print. Denim is all the craze at the moment - between jeans, shorts, jackets and waistcoats; it's everywhere. It's nice to see a little twist, something a bit different than plain or distressed denim. Instead of denim having a cool or grungy look, it's a little more feminine with the floral print which allows you to wear edgy accessories and not look too over the top.

The floral play-suit pictured is my favorite piece from the selection. The print is very romantic with all of the roses and its sweet and ditsy at the same time. You could wear this to so many places and/or occasions. You could put it with a trilby hat and some sandals for the beach, or with a blazer and a pair of ankle boots for a more edgy looks. You could also put a lot of accessories with this.
Next is a denim swing dress with a floral lace detail on the chest with the gold buttons. This dress is perfect for casual day wear and would look stunning with a pair of tan boots.
There  is then a floral tee. This isn't a denim tee but it has the denim look. The ditsy pattern is gorgeous and this would go really well with a pair of denim shorts and flip-flops for the beach.
This is the cutest purse I have seen in a while and unlike all the other pieces, this is a dark denim which makes the floral print stand out and gives it a bit of a vintage look.

MOTO Bleached Denim Floral Playsuit - Topshop - £35.00
Floral Lace Swing Dress - Miss Selfridge - £36.00
Emanuelle Ditsy Print Scoop Vest - Oasis - £18.00
Floral Denim Purse - New Look - £3.99
