Product Review: Lusheena Maxi

By Nathalie (Guest Blogger)

Are you a maxi dress lover? You know we are... :P

It's a common and a much misconception that long dresses are supposed to be worn to formal dinners or occasions of such particularly in Malaysia where our weather is screaming hot daily.
When I started wearing maxi casually in Penang almost a year back, I was often quoted for being overdressed. Even my mum thinks I overdid it despite I totally dressed down to sandals and straw bags. Nevertheless I still wore maxi for Chinese New Year, Christmas, wedding dinners, birthdays and the list went on….

Maxi dresses makes a good fashion choice for lazy people like who hates mix and matching attires. All I need is to pull a maxi over and put on some accessories depending on the occasion and Voila! I am all done for a casual Sunday or a formal dinner.

I truly believe there is a maxi for every ocassion!

My humble collection of maxi dresses

However maxis are normally not as versatile in the sense that it is not easily recyclable once its worn and flashed or tagged in Facebook (I believe most of us do not like to be seen in the same piece in all our pics).

What if you could find a versatile maxi where it can be worn in many ways for different occasions? Think the famous convertible dress in a form of maxi.

What if you could wear the same maxi by:

  • Turning it into a toga for that casual sunday stroll at the mall
  • Make it an off shoulder to suit a bohemian romantic date
  • Add some bib necklace and you're all set for a dinner

  • Top it over with a blazer and you're ready for meeting clients especially during the Ramadhan months where attires shouldn't be too revealing
  • Pair it with high waist skirt & a clutch (you need to fold the bottom really well to avoid slipping out) and you're set for an all girl's day out.

What's more not to love about this maxi? It fits up to XL and it's versatie enough for expecting mother due to its princess cut. The Lusheena Maxi comes in a many vibrant colors :

... and beautifully packed too ;)

If you're looking for a highly versatile maxi, hop on to Like Igloo for the return of this popular maxi - they are currently having a promo on this maxi as well :D

Product Review: The Name Necklace

What's in a name? I love names - the embarrassing nicknames your siblings give you, the snuggly pet names your significant other reserves for only you, the names us girls dream of giving our litter of future offspring ...

And then to have your name worn on you in some special way - whether it's a daring emblazoned tattoo on the back of your neck or on a piece of jewelry. :) I just love that tailored, personalized feel of having my name on me - if you feel the same way, then this product review is one you'll find useful. :D

Remember the infamous "Carrie necklace" that Carrie wears in Sex and the City? :D Notice how the fashion-lovin' celebrities have name necklaces too?

Carrie Bradshaw aka SJP, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Katy Perry!

It's the most personalized form of accessory available, and we're happy to know that we can shop online for name jewelry too! :D I've seen this online for over a year now, available in a handful of blogshops but I never tried it, so when Glam Tags wanted to prove to us that they're worth the price - we thought it'd be cool to give it a go and share this with our readers. :D

Glam Tags: Personalized name accessories!

First, I chose between three colours for my name necklace: yellow-gold plated, sterling silver classic, or rose-gold plated. I chose silver because I figured it would be the easiest colour to match with any outfit. :D

http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee453/glamtags/P1200051copy.jpg

Second, I chose a font. :D Then, I sent in my order and this arrived at my doorstep a couple of weeks later! :D Free Registered Post for every order - but you can upgrade it to Pos Laju by paying an additional RM5. :)

Check out what I received! :D

Light, fine silver that will complement the most delicate and feminine styles
or the edgiest silver-rock trends :D
Flawless design and a name personalized for yourself.

If you're worried what your necklace will look like, Glam Tags can send you the design. :D

Love it! :D

Glam Tags is going to be a sponsor for this particular charity jogathon - Jog for Hope 2011, organized by Taylor's College Sri Hartamas (the blogshop owner's college :D). They're giving out RM5 vouchers in the ALL the goodiebags, as well as setting up a booth to take orders on that day itself! And winners will get RM50/RM100 (1st prize) GLAMTAGS vouchers!

http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee453/glamtags/invite-3.jpg

GlamTags is YSK-approved! :D It's now my personal go-to blogshop for customized jewelry, as they not only have name necklaces but also "long-message necklaces" and other engravings available. :) Joy!

Product Review: Dodora Magic Pink Cream

By Wei Ni (Guest Blogger)

Pink is my favourite colour! Pink is the colour of youth and plump skin that goes ‘boing boing’ every time you touch it! It has a soft, bouncy and springy feel to it and that essentially is the epitome of youth and health!

When I was given the opportunity to review this particular product, I was a tad skeptical as to it’s functions. A magic cream that will leave you with naturally pink lips, cheeks and nipples? Surely not! Read on to find out what this pink cream is all about! :)

Dodora Magic Pink Cream!
Comes in a sickly adorable pink packaging with a girl in a pink dress blown away ala Marilyn Monroe wearing a crown. Comes in a clear white tube, the product itself is white as well but will turn pink once applied onto skin.

DSC_0296
The ingredients. All I see is collagen, collagen, collagen!! Absolutely needed to keeping skin young, plump and wrinkle free! :)

This product promises to lighten any dark areas that you have and can be used on your lips, cheeks, nipple and umm… va-jayjay should you choose to use it there. It is said to prevent dryness and chapped lips and is best used after shower.

Now let’s see if this thing actually works! :)

DSC_0301
I decided to apply a little dollop on to back of my hand first to test it out, as you can see the product comes out white.

DSC_0303
Smoothing the product across the back of my hand, it looks a tad glossy and the pink doesn’t quite show yet.

DSC_0304DSC_0305
Giving it a few more moments, the lovely pink shade slowly appears on the back of my hand. As you can see from the photos, the pink itself isn’t overly striking or bright, it just gives a really natural pink tint to your skin. Can you imagine this lovely healthy shade of pink across your cheek? As if you’ve just stepped out from the sun and you’re glowing and flushing from the inside.

DSC_0307DSC_0306
Here’s how the pink looks on a piece of white tissue. Not very obvious and just a hint of pink! Lovely!

I’ve been using this product for a few weeks now. I personally find that it is better to apply a layer of lip balm underneath this product as it isn’t as moisturising as what I am used to.

Because my lips are already quite naturally pink, when I applied it there wasn’t too much of a difference. However, my best friend who has darker lips due to her constant need for nicotine noticed a really nice subtle difference to her lips! In fact, she likes this pink cream more than I do (so she was really bummed when a thief stole her bag with this cream inside! Anyone wanna sponsor us another tube? *hopeful face*)!

This Dodora Magic Pink Cream really gives you the most natural pink lips you can possibly get! I haven’t quite tried it on my cheeks yet, but I believe that if you put it on top of your foundation, it’ll give your cheeks a really lovely and natural pink flush!

All in all, if you’re looking for the most natural looking pink lip tint, this is definitely the one for you! And heck, if you do manage to try it on your cheeks do let me know how it goes and send me before and after photos as well! :)

Where to get this pretty pink cream?
None other than the esteemed, Supermodel’s Secrets!
The price for naturally pink lips and cheeks?
RM46 with PosLaju.
This Taiwanese product is incredibly popular in countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan!

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to Supermodel’s Secrets to naturally pinkify your look! :)

Till next time!
Wei Ni out.

Product Review: LUS Korea Hand and Foot Mask

By Mechell (Guest Blogger)

Hi shopping kaki!

If you're like me, you'd also be one of those who cannot get enough of self-pampering and beautifying sessions. Manicures, pedicures, facials, hair treatments, massages - you name it. Only thing is, all these usually come with a price. But hey, we shouldn't be blamed, since we girls obviously want to look as good as we can! Besides, it's not like the guys don't enjoy the indirect benefits as well. ;)

Since I'm usually in an air-conditioned environment, my skin sometimes feels really dehydrated and I guess the condition was so bad that when I went for a pedicure + paraffin foot treatment, the pedicurist complained that my feet looked 10 years older than I really was *throws tantrum* Anyway so I decided, I gotta take care of my feet no matter the cost. I considered going for foot treatments monthly but before I made the costly decision - Supermodel's Secrets E- Store came to my rescue with the LUS Korea Hand and Foot Mask! :D

Packaging for each individual mask.
Comes with one treatment pack + one cover per individual packet.

How to use:
  1. Take hand/ foot pack out of packaging.
  2. Put it on like how you would wear gloves/ socks.
  3. Put on the cover provided (to prevent the essence from dripping and also for your own convenience).
  4. Secure the cover and leave it on for 20 to 40 minutes.

My take on the products:
I'm not a person who likes to wears socks/ covered toe shoes so wrapping up my feet this way was rather uncomfortable for a while since it felt somewhat like wearing wet socks but what is slight discomfort to beauty? ;) After removing the masks, I wasn't sure whether to massage the rest of the essence into my skin or to wash off. I tried massaging it in but it was rather sticky so I decided to wash my hands and apply hand/foot cream after that. I think washing + cream is the better choice. My skin did feel softer after that and was obviously more moisturized. I'm guessing the wine extract may be the secret ingredient. All in all, I was quite impressed with the masks, so will definitely be using them regularly ;)

Tip:
Put on the foot mask before the hand mask, otherwise you'll have to wait for you to be done with the hand mask before you can do the foot mask. Silly me made that mistake and prolonged the whole process by over 30 minutes, haha.

After some indulgence, splash on some color
and you're ready to head out to take on the world! ;)

The price for soft baby skin?
RM18 for 1 packet including post express
RM39 for 1 box (3 packets) including post laju to WM
RM42 for 1 box (3 packets) including post laju to EM

Only at Supermodel's Secrets, so hurry over now! ;)

Happy Shopping!

Event Review: MagicColour Lens Blogger's Review Session @ Mid Valley

By Michelle C. (Guest Blogger)

Heya beautiful people!=D

By now, you've prolly heard of Geo Lens a.k.a Circle lens that has been a huge hit in Japan and Korea for its ability to make one's eyes anime-like due to its larger diameter and vibrant colors. I've always wanted eyes that pop (uhh, not pop out of the socket, but bigger, brighter eyes with a gaze that mesmerizes =D) but never dared to try these lens back then as I used to be a tad doubtful on its safety and its origins. However, after having the opportunity to try 'em out, I'm a fan now! Thanks to MagicColour contact lens - a brand new Korean circle lens brand that has just hit our shores last month and YSK is honoured to be invited to be part of their launch a.k.a Blogger's review event which was held in Delectable, Mid Valley.

A fun-filled event with food, free makeover sessions and goodiebag for all the bloggers. I'll let the photos speak for itself ;) :

MagicColour Lens custom made cupcakes and chocolate lollipops. Cute stuff!

We're greeted with goodiebags containing a bag organizer, 3 pairs of lens ,
chic&sleek canvas bag & 1 set of the lens casing

Bloggers mingling with delectable finger food before the makeover session.

Make up session ... and now.. our crowning glory gets glorified =D

Next up is the photoshoot, all of us got the opportunity for a shot with MagicColour Lens after the makeover and hair do, and here are snapshots of the photos of the bloggers and yours truly donning MagicColour lens.

Fatin wearing DiamondGreen | Hazel in Dazzle Violet

Isabel in BlushyGreen | Michelle in BlushyBrown

Syazwani in BlushyBlue | Stella in MoonlightPink

Traclyn in Stilette Pink | Tammy in Blushy Gray

Group shot after the event =)

We're all ecstatic as we all can now look like Tsubasa Masuwaka (anytime!),
the gyaru top model in Japan. Yikes, sorry, I digressed.

My personal review on MagicColour Lens:

Lens quality/design/size:
Top quality lenses that is made in Korea using the latest diamond cutting technology, with 16.00mm diameter, normal lenses are 14.00mm in diameter. While 2.00mm may seem miniscule with the naked eye, it makes a HUGE difference when worn on the eyes. Below is a personal pic. Right eye (no MagicColour Lens), Left eye (Wearing MagicColour lens). Huge diffference eh?

BEFORE (Left) AFTER (Right - with MagicColour lens)

Variety/colours: They've got 11 collections altogether, my favourite is Blushy collection as it has 3 color tones and blends beautifully into dreamy like anime eyes. This one will suit casual outings and everyday wear, and they have got collections with pretty patterns too like the Ballerina range, which looks fun to try out on special occasions.

Comfort: Wearing this for up to 4 hours is fine, after the 4th hour it gets a bit dry, hence i recommend using eyedrops. I have got very sensitive eyes, so maybe for me my eyes feels dry faster than alot of people.it has 55% water content so it is still fairly moisturised. Use a moirturising solution prior to wearing to help extend the moisture odf the lens while wearing it.

Packaging: Blister packaging encased in another lovely box by MagicColour, very hygienic.

Other comments: This lens looks great not only in real life but stands out all the more in photos. It makes even the smallest of eyes stand out.
